Install Forged Optimizations in GDLauncher
Forged Optimizations runs on Forge. Pick whichever your existing instance uses, or create a new one. GDLauncher installs the correct loader automatically.
Install on Forge
- Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
- Pick the Forge loader and a Minecraft version that Forged Optimizations supports (1.20.1, 1.19.2, 1.8.9 are common choices).
- Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
- Paste the Quick Install ID
#forged-optimizations, find Forged Optimizations in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically. - Hit Play. That's it.
Before you install
Make sure your Minecraft version matches what Forged Optimizations supports. As of the latest release, 1.20.1, 1.19.2, 1.8.9 are supported. Forged Optimizations only runs on Forge; mods built for other loaders won't work. GDLauncher checks compatibility for you and won't install something incompatible with the instance you've chosen.
