Install Legacy Console Experience in GDLauncher

Legacy Console Experience runs on Fabric. Pick whichever your existing instance uses, or create a new one. GDLauncher installs the correct loader automatically.

Install on Fabric

  1. Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
  2. Pick the Fabric loader and a Minecraft version that Legacy Console Experience supports (1.19.4, 1.18.2, 1.17.1 are common choices).
  3. Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
  4. Paste the Quick Install ID #legacy_console_experience, find Legacy Console Experience in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically.
  5. Hit Play. That's it.

Before you install

Make sure your Minecraft version matches what Legacy Console Experience supports. As of the latest release, 1.19.4, 1.18.2, 1.17.1 are supported. Legacy Console Experience only runs on Fabric; mods built for other loaders won't work. GDLauncher checks compatibility for you and won't install something incompatible with the instance you've chosen.
