Install Star Optimized in GDLauncher
Star Optimized runs on Fabric. Pick whichever your existing instance uses, or create a new one. GDLauncher installs the correct loader automatically.
Install on Fabric
- Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
- Pick the Fabric loader and a Minecraft version that Star Optimized supports (1.21.5, 1.20.6 are common choices).
- Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
- Paste the Quick Install ID
#star-optimized, find Star Optimized in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically. - Hit Play. That's it.
Before you install
Make sure your Minecraft version matches what Star Optimized supports. As of the latest release, 1.21.5, 1.20.6 are supported. Star Optimized only runs on Fabric; mods built for other loaders won't work. GDLauncher checks compatibility for you and won't install something incompatible with the instance you've chosen.
