FDLib runs on Forge, NeoForge. Pick whichever your existing instance uses, or create a new one. GDLauncher installs the correct loader automatically.

Install on Forge

  1. Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
  2. Pick the Forge loader and a Minecraft version that FDLib supports (1.21.1, 1.20.1 are common choices).
  3. Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
  4. Paste the Quick Install ID #fdlib, find FDLib in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically.
  5. Hit Play. That's it.

Install on NeoForge

  1. Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
  2. Pick the NeoForge loader and a Minecraft version that FDLib supports (1.21.1, 1.20.1 are common choices).
  3. Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
  4. Paste the Quick Install ID #fdlib, find FDLib in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically.
  5. Hit Play. That's it.

Before you install

Make sure your Minecraft version matches what FDLib supports. As of the latest release, 1.21.1, 1.20.1 are supported. FDLib supports multiple loaders (Forge, NeoForge); pick whichever matches your other mods. GDLauncher checks compatibility for you and won't install something incompatible with the instance you've chosen.
