Install Spell Engine in GDLauncher

Spell Engine runs on Fabric, NeoForge. Pick whichever your existing instance uses, or create a new one. GDLauncher installs the correct loader automatically.

Install on Fabric

  1. Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
  2. Pick the Fabric loader and a Minecraft version that Spell Engine supports (1.21.1, 1.20.1, 1.19.2 are common choices).
  3. Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
  4. Paste the Quick Install ID #spell-engine, find Spell Engine in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically.
  5. Hit Play. That's it.

Install on NeoForge

  1. Open GDLauncher and create a new instance (the + button on the Library page).
  2. Pick the NeoForge loader and a Minecraft version that Spell Engine supports (1.21.1, 1.20.1, 1.19.2 are common choices).
  3. Open the new instance, go to the Addons tab, and click Add Addons.
  4. Paste the Quick Install ID #spell-engine, find Spell Engine in the results, and hit Download. GDLauncher pulls dependencies automatically.
  5. Hit Play. That's it.

Before you install

Make sure your Minecraft version matches what Spell Engine supports. As of the latest release, 1.21.1, 1.20.1, 1.19.2 are supported. Spell Engine supports multiple loaders (Fabric, NeoForge); pick whichever matches your other mods. GDLauncher checks compatibility for you and won't install something incompatible with the instance you've chosen.
